The next phase of Sean’s dream

So anyone who has met Sean knows he has a little bit of a liking for this sport called ice hockey.  He plays, he refs, he watches, he dreams about, etc.  He just overall loves it.  He would also love if his wife and two children played it as well.  That dream will never be fully realized unless you count a cold mom sitting in the stands watching her figure skating daughter and ice hockey playing son spending their after school hours sharing a love of ice with their father.  But I think that picture would be just fine with Sean.  We took a step towards that dream when Sean was asked to ref a charity ice hockey game that would be taking place after a regular season Stars game.  He was able to get tickets at a very reduced rate and could get us a tour of the lower level of the American Airlines Center to boot.  So I packed up the amazing diaper bag and dressed us all in green and we headed out for the first Murphy hockey game.

If you could turn all the green in the pics below to red (for the Detroit Redwings) this may have been Sean’s perfect afternoon/evening (I mean if you don’t count our wedding and children’s births).  I had a pretty fun time myself! His love of the sport is beyond contagious.  I just worry that our garage is going to smell like more than just his hockey equipment in a few years :(

Family pic on the ice before the game!

The smile equaled love at first sight for Bauer!

I’m going to make such a great hockey mom!

Bree and Daddy checking things out before the game!

Hello fans…

Gotta love a close up look at the zam!

And finally the view from the seats…we almost made it to the end of the first period before Bree was threating to revolt!  Baby steps….
