Bree has hit a huge milestone in that she is now 6 months old. Its amazing to think that just the other day we were marveling over her being 6 weeks old and here were are at half a year. She becomes more of a little person everyday with an attitude already emerging. She is eating all her veggies and fruits and has loved everything but green peas 
She loves oatmeal and her rice cereal too and has gradutated from the bumbo to her high chair for eating her solid foods. We have to be careful not to place anything on her high chair tray until we are ready to sit down and eat b/c she will pick stuff up and try to put anything and everything in her mouth. She now eating 4 meals a day…which is down from 5. She is also slimming down on the weight scale…coming in at 18 pounds 13 ounces and the 90 percentile for weight. She is still off the charts height wise at 28 and 1/4 inches. We ordered her new car seats b/c she is just about too big to fit in the newborn one any longer…that’s so sad…she is growing up so quickly!!! She’s sitting like a professional and loves to sit and play with her toys on the bed, a blanket, on our laps, wherever and when we say “play” we mostly mean put things in her mouth. She’s in love with the puppies and gets very excited when they come close enough to pet. Today she actually fell over when she had decided to pet Beaker and Beaker moved at just the wrong time. She fell on her side and then rolled over to her stomach, which always makes her happy! NOT! She has finally grasped that rolling over can prevent her from being on her stomach, but she doesn’t do it very often regardless. We may skip straight to crawling. She turned her leg over for the first time today from a sitting position and then fell onto her stomach and then of course rolled over. But that is defintiely the first step towards crawling. SCARY and EXCITING at the same time!!! We have big diaper boxes and her car seat boxes saved up waiting to block doorways and areas of the family room that she doesn’t need to explore. Its going to be quite a sight!
She loves to stand more than anything and gets frustrated when we won’t let her stand and bounce for minutes on end…we are still trying to protect those joints!!! We try to put in a sitting position and she ends up standing up on the changing table, on our laps, in our arms when we are carrying her…those little legs don’t stop!!!
Bree had her first night without Mommy or Daddy and stayed with Gram while we went to the lake to celebrate our 3 year anniversary last weekend. She did good but by about lunchtime on the 2nd day, she was wondering where we were and got a little cranky. We missed her more than we thought we would as well. By the 2nd day, we were ready to hold her and play with her as well!
Bree still doesn’t like to sleep at daycare and comes home exhausted everyday so we defintiely catch up on our Bree time each weekend. She is great though that she lets us know exactly when she is ready to hit the crib. She goes from laughing and smiling to this huge frown and cry. Its like she just realizes that she’s tired and can’t understand why she’s not in her crib at that exact moment. Then we take her into her room and put her in her crib and she puts herself right to sleep with teddy. AMAZING! She is still sleeping through the night like a pro as well. She wakes up every morning between 7 and 7:30am…this child is spoiling us rotten.
