Closing out August!

Welcome to September…wow.  We closed out August by starting school at UTA, marrying off my best friend, more showings of our house and planning a great road trip for the beginning of September.  I keep promising myself that things will slow down eventually…but really at this point I’m just looking towards 2010 for that to come true.

We had a great weekend catching up with college friends and being a big part of my best friend Keri’s wedding.  It turned out to be a beautiful night weather wise in Texas…we had a cold front that made it only in the low 90s for a high…what a relief as the wedding was outside.

Keri and David seemed super happy and it was a blast to be able to hang out with the Loop staying up way to late and drinking a wee bit too much.  It was a nice break for all the craziness of work for both Sean and I!

My cute parents!

The cute couple of the day!

All the TCU Horned Frogs celebrating at the wedding!

Kappa Alpha Thetas…gotta love the kite!

While the kiddos didn’t get to participate in the actual wedding festivities on Saturday night, they are still super busy having a good time.

Last Friday with the bridal party, Bree got to have her first shopping trip at Sam Moon (a huge store with every accessory a girl could ever want for very cheap).  She loved it to say the least…we left with a green hat, a wallet and two purple bracelets.

She also has been preparing for returning to school by wearing her backpack and carrying her lunchbox around quite a bit.  It is pretty adorable!

She also attended her first dance class tonight!  We didn’t get to go in and watch but I was that mom standing by the door listening to see if I heard Bree acting up and or the teacher calling her name repeatedly.  I did hear her a few times, but it was mostly when they were pretending to be different animals.  They also played the “freeze” game…where they would run in their tap shoes and tap, tap, tap until the teacher called freeze.  It was so funny to listen to and I can’t wait to ask her to practice at home for me.  She was very excited about the class when she got out so I think its a go.  She was almost hysterical when I attempted to put on her tights and leotard about 30 minutes before class so I was not convinced she was 1) going to even get in the car to go to dance and 2) if we got there go in the class and actually do it.  But both happened and I couldn’t be more proud.  I am already envisioning recitals, competition teams and drill team in high school.  A mom can dream can’t she.  I have to get in the girly stuff now before she falls in love with ice hockey or something equally as smelly!

Bauer is doing fantastically too.  He is learning words like a champ.  In addition to “mama” and “dada”, he says “ball”, “hi”, “bye”, “fish”, “that” and babbles all the time as well.  I’d forgotten how much fun it is to watch him really try to understand what we are saying and then respond to us.  I really think he has learned “thank you” as well, but its a bit more hit and miss.  He loves to feed us and the dogs.  He is a sharer in that he takes a bite and then always tries to give us some of whatever.  He really does get cuter by the day (I know I’m biased), but he just captivates people wherever we go.  That red hair is a chick magnet already.

A true smile from our favorite girl…

Backpack mania….

Ready for dance class number one…aren’t those ballet shoes adorable??!!

And a final word from Bauer chillin’ with his new train set…he’s still a happy kid and just so much fun!

Hope everyone is having a great week!
