Happenings…

Last night, it was all about the girls…well and one special boy!  We had a farewell dinner with one of our bff’s from college, Ashley Wilson.  She and her cute family (husband Brad, baby Brandt, and doggie Nash) are headed to live up North for what we hope is a temporary stay.  We met up for some final Tex-Mex at Chuy’s in Dallas and chatted about houses, babies, jobs, weddings to come and weddings that have been, and just relished how fabulous our girlfriends are to our lives.

We also all got to take turns holding cute Baby Brandt…he was amazing.  He just stared at us and his reflection in the ceiling tiles and had a great ole time.  Ashley could not believe how Chuy’s and her girls had cured him of colic for at least a few hours of one night.  But with babies, you will take whatever you can get.

We are going to miss you so much Ashley, Brad, Brandt and Nash!  But the great thing about our group of friends is that no matter how long you are away or how many different roads you take while you are here, you always have a group of friends that will do whatever it takes to celebrate each milestone, cheer on each accomplishment, and cry on the phone from a distance whenever we can.

I am so blessed…

Kari, Sarah, Kori (with Baby B), Keri, Ashley, Jenica, Marissa, and me!

Ash burping the man of the hour!

Sarah loved her some Brandt time!

Keri does the whole “baby” thing like a pro!

Oh how I miss holding little babies (but I don’t miss night time feedings)…random gig ‘em sign as well!

Unrelated to my girls’ night out, the rest of the Murphys are still on the go.  We are trying to take advantage of the great weather and seemingly break in our social calendar to try out some fun new places.  We tried out this placed called Abbey’s Town in Grand Prairie.  It’s like a big toy store where the kids can just play with whatever…amazing.

Now that the weather is back to fabulous, Bree and Daddy are skating out in the cove and even ventured to the park this past Sunday.  She’s just amazing.  Sean also took this Sunday as the first chance to try on a kid hockey helmet that he bought long before he even knew me or knew Bauer would one day be in his life.  That’s pretty cool.  And it fits.  Next we find skates and my life as a hockey mom begins.

We’ve also hit the zoo a couple of times in the past few weeks.  Bauer is getting braver each time and climbs out of the stroller (when I don’t have him buckled in) and if I take my eyes away for a second attempts to climb into exhibits.  Awesome.  The picture below Bauer is a little strange, but Bree always wants to get fish food to feed the fish in some of the exhibits.  I never have cash much less coins to put in the machine, so I am so that parent who has started telling her to just look around on the ground…there is plenty of dropped fish food that she can pick up and feed to the fish.  I mean, really, there is a ton of wasted food on the ground.  So that pic is of her picking up excess food so that I can remember I didn’t always give in!

After all our adventures each week, I like to say we put our bows up and just relax a little in bed with a few of our favorite shows!  I made this bow holder for Bree to start holding her expanding collection.  I am pretty darn proud of it!  And below that is a pic of Bauer and Bree hanging out while I got ready for the day.  It was the first time they both just chilled out together and watched a show in bed and it was HEAVEN!!!  Such rays of hope in every day!
