Christmas comes early and often…

We changed up Covert tradition a little this year and celebrated Christmas as a family before my brother and his wife had to leave for Amarillo (where her family is from).  What a deal this worked out to be for the kids!!!

Santa (well, Grammy) came early this year!

Bree was officially in love with her Dora backpack…

…until Bauer opened Diego’s Rescue Pack!

Then she suddenly became the new owner of Diego’s Rescue Pack…

Bauer seemed okay with the switch…I love this boy and his laid back spirit!

The Clays opened some fabulous presents as well!

Bauer (with Backpack) and Grammy!

Bauer (with Backpack) opening more presents!

After some great present opening and a more fabulous dinner, there was a little downtime!

Then Bree decided to perform some of her dances…and faces…for her cousins!

We woke up this morning and Bree was completely excited that the box of presents from last night were at her house…I think she just assumed they were presents to play with at Grammy’s.  It was like Christmas all over again when she figured out they were hers to play with at her house.  So fun!

Sean spent the morning with the kids while I worked.  They had a serious animal rescue mission….Bree was ready to rescue all the animals in danger complete with her Diego Rescue Pack.

She had to help out the reindeer and Santa!

Bauer saved a dinosaur from the big teapot.

They took a break from the rescue missions to color some pictures with their new markers from Uncle Michael and Aunt Erin.

Bree just could not be cuter with that rescue pack!  Bauer now sleeps with Dora’s backpack in his crib.  We are happy it is still an win-win for everyone.

Another present came today for the kids.  A new friend of mine (she’s in my Theta Alumni Group) told me on Saturday that she had a kids’ cottage free for the taking if we would come and pick it up.  I hear the word FREE and I see two happy kids in our backyard…Merry Christmas Murphys.  So we borrowed a truck this morning and went to pick it up.  It is a hit to say the least.  Hopefully, Bree doesn’t remember next year that she got so many Christmas presents BEFORE Christmas.

The new cottage!

Some outdoor seating!

“Come on in, brother!” (really she was attempting to close the door while he was attempting to keep it open…lots of gnashing of teeth)!

Bauer may have lost the door battle, but the window is his!  Big SMILE!

Even Bunson and I got a chance to play inside!

The blessings just continue to come to our family this holiday and we could not be more grateful!  Looking forward to a break from work, some quality time with the kiddos and more Christmas memories this week!
