All I want for Christmas…

Santa is all the talk around the Murphy house these days.

Bree has completely bought into the idea of Christmas and is so excited that Santa is coming to our house in a few weeks. Every commercial and every trip to the store yield about 7000 things she wants Santa to bring for her this Christmas…

We wrote our first letter to Santa. I told her the letters to write and she wrote them…it was really an amazing moment for both of us.  She was a very efficient letter writer:

Santa -
1. Bike
2. Princess Stuff
Love, Briana

We took said letter with us on Saturday to see Santa in person up at “mommy’s work” aka UTA’s Holiday Extravaganza that the FLOC student group puts on each year.

We’ve been hit or miss with Santa the past 3 years with kiddos. Pretty much Bree and Bauer have both taken a great picture with Santa when they were infants, but ever since then they have freaked out and refused to sit on his lap.

I had very low expectations as we headed out the door this year.

I figured that Bree would be all over it due to the letter and really feeling like this was her time to tell Santa what she really wanted. Bauer as usual is always unpredictable so I don’t even try to foreshadow his next move anymore.

The kids did some crafts while I waited in line for Santa and introduced Bennett to some of my co-workers.

Then the big moment came…

And we were completely shocked that this was the result:

They both sat on his lap and talked to him about what they both wanted…it was adorable!

Santa may have told Bree he would bring her a princess bike.  Since said bike is already in the attic and Sean nor I can remember what it looks like, we told her we were sure he would try his best.

Bree announced as we were leaving the event that she already missed Santa…we told he we would try to see him again at one of his other appearances but that he was a very busy guy.

Bennett also had his first talk with Santa…but even Santa has trouble fitting three kids on his lap so i held him in the picture:

It was one of our better UTA events…the kids continue to impress us. We have been so blessed by a pretty easy baby and two kids that have decided to show such progress when we needed it most.  We are so excited about the holiday season ahead!

It is such a special time to welcome a new “little elf” into the Murphy clan…
