Team Mur-kamp…Big and Bigger!

Baby playdates crack me up.  Mainly because the babies aren’t really able to play, it’s totally for the moms!

But they are still a ton of fun.  Two of Bennett’s favorite playmates are Colin and Benjamin.  And one of my favorite playmates is Sarah.  Luckily for all of us Sarah is Colin and Benjamin’s mommy!

It’s a much needed WIN-WIN for everyone!

The W twins are a couple weeks ahead of Bennett in age, but Bennett has them beat in size. And let’s be honest, the W twins are not small by any means…Sarah is keeping those boys well fed!  But Bennett is falling right in line with his older brother Bauer theory in life…bigger is better!

Bennett had his four month check-up last Thursday and came in weighing 18 pounds 4 ounces.  He was in the high 90th percentile for both weight and height.  His head is in the 83rd percentile.  For those of your non-baby people out there, that just means he’s bigger than almost all other babies his age.  I like to think of this as an accomplishment…one that neither Bennett or I had anything to do with :)

One of these things is not like the other….

Even Bennett’s head is huge…it’s like a 9 month old snuck in on this playdate!

Colin and Bennett going head to head….Colin won hands down in the tummy time competition.  Bennett needs to up his training….too bad it’s hard to hold up such a huge head!

I so love our time with Sarah and the W twins.  It is special to me for so many reasons.  I love getting to experience all the firsts of these babies with a first time mom.  It is so innocent and unexpected all the little things they do.  I feel like I truly get to soak it in and see how Bennett is growing and changing along with his buddies.    Sometimes things get lost at our house in the hectic day to day with the older B’s causing havoc around every corner.  But when Bennett gets to be with his buddies and I get to pull up a chair and sit with one of my best friends….time gets to stand still for a few precious seconds.

I told Sarah during our playdate that I was thinking how weird it is that I will be able to tell Colin and Benjamin that I have known them their whole lives.  When one of my mom’s friends would say this to me when I was growing up, it just never registered that this is how it starts.  I’m so excited to be along the ride for all the adventures we will endure together in the future.

Bennett, Colin and Benjamin thanks for inviting your moms to your playdates!  We are truly grateful!
