Valentine’s Murphy Style

Playing hookey is fun...  Who’s excited to play hookey for the weekend???!!!

This post is a little overdue, but wanted to blog about it anyhow.  Sean and I escaped to San Antonio a couple weekends ago.  He reffed two hockey games for UTSA and Texas A&M while we were there which meant the trip was paid for by the two schools…bonus!!!  We thought this would be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and the 5 year anniversary of our meeting.  I got to shop at this huge outdoor mall and I went to see the movie “27 Dresses” (yes, by myself, but it was still fabulous) and I got a pedicure.  These are all things that I just can’t up and go do without a little more planning now that Bree is here so it was so nice to just be able to have an afternoon all to myself.

Surprise Roses!

Sean surprised me with ROSES :)

     He's soo hot!

My new dress (sideways view, I have yet to figure out how to change that):

Saturday night we went to the Market Square and ate at San Antonio’s famous Mi Tierra and had some great authentic greasy Mexican food.  YUM!!!

Mi Tierra...YUM!  The craziness of the restaurant!

Sunday morning I slept in til almost 10am…it was the most exciting thing to wake up and realize I hadn’t ignored my child, but could just go back to sleep if I wanted to.  I had starbucks and read the paper and went on a walk.  Then Sean got back and we had a leisurely lunch and did some more shopping and headed back to Big D.

The cool house on the drive down...

Sean is obsessed with this really cool barn and dead trees outside of Hillsboro…so we stopped to take a picture!

It really was the most simple yet wonderful vacation.  Bree did great with the grandparents and so we didn’t even have to feel that guilty for leaving her for two days.

It was great to really reconnect with Sean without any distractions.  We both got a lot of time together and then some time apart to do some of our favorite things (his being reffing hockey).
Overall, it really  made us realize we have to still make time for ourselves or we may go crazy especially with another little bundle of joy coming in a few months!!!
