Twisters, Hedgehogs, and Pumpkins!

We tried to go in with no expectations…this seems to like the theme of all my motherhood sagas!

And I’d say we did pretty well…Sean and I that is!

We survived our first Saturday as parents of more than 1 soccer playing kiddo!

Luckily the weather was perfect for some outdoor soccer games!  We hyped the kids up on the way there.  First Bauer will play and we will all cheer him on.  Then we will go have lunch.  Then we will come back and watch Bree play and cheer her on.  And yes, most of this will take place during nap-time…but no need to worry about that!

Everyone seemed to be in agreement that this soccer thing was a great idea.

Deep breaths…

Once we arrived…we all had to hype up the soccer playing experience once again…

..as this is how Bauer spent the better part of the 1st quarter of his game.

Even Bennett tried to tell Bauer that this whole soccer things is fun!

And somehow after much asking/hyping up, Bauer went in the game, actually participated and was rewarded with a Capri Sun.

He even did the “Twisters” cheer with the rest of his team.

We are officially calling this “Bauer playing soccer” experiment a success even if he never plays again…which is very possible!

After a great lunch at Potbelly’s, Bree was ready to show us and the rest of her Hedgehog teammates her soccer skills…

…in her dress (she refused to take it off and just put her shirt on over it)!

Bree played for more than half the game!

She didn’t kick the ball much (this picture makes it look like she’s in the thick of things, but that was rarity).  She wandered around the field doing dance moves most of the time.

But she had fun and is ready to play again in a couple weeks!  Due to our delayed moving to the Richardson/Plano side of the world (we lost our loan financing the day before closing…oops), we are just sticking to games this season as practices just cause us to get home way to late.  I think the kiddos will be okay with that!

After two great soccer games and checking in with cousin Andrew who was playing at another field in the same complex, the Murphy clan headed out to find some pumpkins.

We love pumpkin patches…well, I love them especially and the kids are finally at the age that they can appreciate the wait all year for this special month of October!  We tried out a new pumpkin patch in Richardson.

Owen’s Big Orange Pumpkin Farm to be exact!
Bennett was confused by the hay, but in love with the pumpkins.

L-O-V-E!

Relaxing on the spider hay bail!

Some very friendly goats!

They loved our food…

Hayride!

How convenient that they had three holes for our kiddos!

October is off to a very good start…loving the weather and the activities!  So thankful Fall is finally here.  And now if we could just get a new loan for our house in Plano…we’d have way more time to enjoy it :)   Fingers crossed!
