So inspired by our friends’ (the Coopers) fun wet playland and the 100 degree weather, Sean and I bought Ms. Bree a little pool of her own. It is basically a blow up pool with a cool elephant slide that also serves as a fountain. I came home from work on Monday and Bree was chillin’ in her newly claimed chair (she’s ready for some tailgating this Fall) and Sean was setting up our pool in the front yard.Â
Well once it was all set up it seemed silly to waste anytime putting on things like swimsuits so we just all got in in our clothes (good thing I don’t really dress up for work). It was magical. Bree loved the slide, Bauer (yes, still in my belly) and Mom loved the cool water, and Daddy just enjoyed us all being in the pool together. It was quite a sight to see. Our neighbor even offered to take our family pic because he had never seen quite a scene on the cove before. Thanks Scott!
On Tuesday, Bree and I headed to Plano so I could get my chipped tooth fixed (yes, my chronic weak front tooth that chips every two years almost like clock work before big events such as weddings and giving birth). Grammy kept Bree while the dentist did his $200 magic fix it trick and then we decided to stay and play in Plano for the rest of the day.Â
We headed to Willow Bend mall to play on the fun playground of food!
Â
Then we headed up to Sweet and Sassy (a kids’ haircut place) to see if they would cut an 18 month old’s almost mullet. They agreed for the low price of only $6.95 to attempt this job! What a deal. So Ms. Bree sat bravely on the booster seat like such a big girl while Vanessa chopped off that long hair in the back and some over each ear. Luckily there was lots of distractions between Grammy and I, but unfortunatly still lots of turning of the head by Bree. But Vanessa made it through with flying colors. They then offered to let me pay $19.99 for a picture and some hair from her first haircut. I’m like the hair you just cut off her head – can’t I just pick it up off the floor…hmmm. And I have pictures on my own camera. There was then the offer of some styling product for my 18 month old’s hair…that was only $12.99.  Needless to say we left with a $10.95 bill (including tip). I’m from Arlington people, I was just in Plano visiting!!!
The day in Plano was wonderful and even included some outside fun for Bree with the hose. This child has now experienced almost everyway to get wet this summer…lakes, in ground pools, blow up pools, sprinklers, and now the hose! She loved it and filled up cups with water and would pour them on us, the ground or herself. She also loves to drink from the hose…what a surprise! She fully endorses Plano tap water!
So summertime fun continues at the Murphys as we wait for Bauer! We are dialated to a 1 and 1/2 so that’s progress but really in the world of babies that could mean tonight, Sunday, August 2nd or anything in between! We’ll keep ya posted!
