Merry Christmas…a month late
What a unexpected surprise it was to get snow on Christmas Day? Santa really went above and beyond this year. Santa’s gifts:
the long anticipated Stompeez for Bree,
and an amazing set of talking Elmo books for Bennett
were easily overshadowed when the huge flakes began falling on Christmas afternoon.
It was so thick, dark and windy on Christmas that we waited until the sun came out the next day to get out and play in it. What a treat!
It was so fun for our kids to not only get to play in the snow, but have their cousins right there to play with them. Bree was in hog heaven!
Bauer was a little more skeptical of the cold, but finally built up some courage and played with Bree as the sun was setting on the awesome snow.
Snow right next to the lake really made for some spectacular sights.
Overall, Christmas was a really great break to spend with the kids. They loved what Santa brought and loved that he brought some to our house in Plano on Christmas Eve morning and the rest to the lakehouse on Christmas morning. What a fun way to break up the present opening and get to share some of it with Grammy and Grandad!
There were more presents from the cousins and Aunts and Uncles Christmas night and each present definitely got playtime this year. What lucky kids we all are at Christmas (including me with my Ipad mini and a new camera)!
Bennett was especially fun to watch this year. It’s his third Christmas, but this was the first one where he actually was pretty possessive of his gifts and into opening a few of them. I think the whole concept still alluded him, but he really liked the next books he got and was surprising really good at the game ZINGO (which was a family gift this year). So fun to what all the kids interact more and more as we progress through more and more Christmases!
This is a long overdue blog post, but it was such a wonderful Christmas that I had to take some time to document it regardless!
