Our little schoolgirl

The time consuming nature of the large assortment of duties that whirlwind a parent creates a difficultly to enjoy many of the incredible moments our child(ren) goes through. We have an incredible collection of pictures, many capturing Bree (and now Bauer) in the most heart-warming and often heart-melting moments of their lives.

But with the whirlwind comes the unfortunate side effect of those moments only being captured through the pictures. Often they are swept quickly from our minds as the gush of life keeps going on. But not this day. There is something special about taking your child to her first day of school that I can only wish every person I know and don’t know will experience it with the same level of joy as I did today. The excitement of buying her first lunchbox, packing her first lunch and picking out her first outfit. All three were blessings given to Julie, though the thrill of it was equally shared.

The great feeling today is enhanced knowing this isn’t even her first *real* day of school, it’s preschool. I get to look forward to this feeling again with the added bonus that next time she will also understand the idea of “going to school”.
