Bluebonnet Trails….

I love bluebonnets and as you can see in 2012, 2011, and 2009 I especially like my babies in bluebonnets.

These little wild flowers single the end of winter and more important the ending of the school year for us in education.  We have made it through the craziness of another year and can look forward to a break (of sorts) through the summer months.  Yep, that’s in essence why I love bluebonnets so much.

But now that I have kids, bluebonnets are yet another tradition I love to keep going with them.  It is so fascinating how especially in these really young years, that your kid can be a baby next to the bluebonnets one year and then a full fledged running little boy by the time you get back to a patch the next spring.  Just another way to mark time for these growing kiddos, but its a special way because you go from forcing them to take a picture in them to having them help you look out the car window and spot the perfect place to stop the car.  You begin to teach them about Texas and this famous state flower and they begin to understand they are special and we shouldn’t pick them, but just appreciate them.

Just looking back in the blog when I searched for bluebonnet posts got me all nostalgic. The journey I’ve been over the last 6 years is recorded in these bluebonnet pictures and makes me appreciate the fresh start that Spring signals even more.

It was so fun to have Bennett be so intrigued by these blue flowers this year.  His two year old opinions were heard loud and clear about where he wanted to stand and what he wanted to do, but he played along just enough to make this Mommy smile big time!

Here’s to a great start to Spring everyone!
