Happy B’s!

Things are crazy around here, but that’s nothing new!

But we seem to be handling crazy with a few smiles at least!

Who doesn’t like hanging in the bumbo in mommy’s bathroom???!!!

Gotta love the ever changing Bree-Bree smile.

Excited to get her stamp at the end of her gymnastics class show-off day.

Mr. Trouble always gets me with that adorable smile.

Sassy smile at the end of her beam “performance”.

This was a partial smile after he stopped freaking out that I was leaving him…I wasn’t!

Bree likes gymnastics way more than the girl next to her :)

Some days I wished I had a jump-a-roo to hang out in too!

It’s been a rocky week for me in that I had a couple UTA fraternity men pass away in an early morning single vehicle car crash Tuesday.  These seemingly invincible college students has the world opening up to them only to have one split second end it all.  This is the first time that I’ve experienced a male student’s death when I was the mom of boys.  It really hit way too close to home.

I already see that invincible spirit in Bauer and Bennett.  And while I want to cultivate it and let them know that they can do anything they set their minds to, I also want them to know that the world can hurt them…and their own worldly choices can definitely be their own demise.

I definitely found myself hugging a little harder and longer this week and will continue to try to help my boys grow up living a life of both challenge and caution.

As a parent, I pray that the families can find some solace in the joyful lives these two best friends lived and the friendship and memories they were able to leave behind.  These parents were just starting to see their babies spread their wings and I’m sure they can still picture the infants, toddlers and teenagers that smiled at them all those years before.

This is just another example God has given me of why I need to try my best to appreciate each moment with my family, friends and college community despite how challenging it seems at the time.  And I’ll try to do it with a smile because those are the best memories to store for the future that has yet to unfold!
