Survival of the fittest…

Arm workout…check!

Leg workout…check!

Endurance sprints…check!

And all this when I’m not really cleared for exercise for 2 more weeks!

The kiddos and I survived our first trip to Target…affectionately known by me as Targetcise!  When you start out with a basket and a 30 pound toddler and almost 9 pound newborn…you know its going to be a workout!  I’m officially cleared to drive and we needed groceries, new toys to keep Bree occupied, a sling type appartus that I’m forcing Bauer to learn to love, and whatever else I saw that would make our world a happy place!

It was a flawless trip minus the fact that at some unsuspecting moment Bree took my TO DO list (that I had written my list of 5 items I had to get at Target on) and flung it out of the cart.  There were still a lot of TO DO’s on that list…and unfortunately my brain power is working on one or two bars max.  Now I have to recreate the list…we all know how well that will go!

The hardest part of the whole thing was finding any place to put the stuff I wanted to buy…it had to slide under Bauer’s carrier that was hanging out on the edges of the back of the cart (very securely I might add).  Then much to my surprise (I’m telling you brain power is not my strongest right now) you have to take it all out from under his carrier to check out and then figure out how to get it all back in once it is in bags.  I set Mr. Bauer in many different places during this process and was very proud that I didn’t leave him at Target!

Bree was fantastic and seemed to be totally okay that little brother tagged along.  Granted he didn’t make a peep and she couldn’t really see him, but I’m taking it as a good sign!

So Targetcise is completed for the week…I can see how you learn to live without stuff if you forget an item…thus my list of the most important 5 things (milk being number 1).  Maybe this two kid thing isn’t going to be so bad!

We bought a double stroller yesterday too…watch out world here I come!

One Response to Survival of the fittest…

Going out definitely takes some multi-tasking. I have found it was great to baby wear gabe (the sling or even bjorn are great!) and then keep Molly in the front of the basket. That saves my arm. I just wear the sling on me in the car already put together so that I can just get out and stick him in.

Whenever I have Gabe in his carseat in the basket- I always end of stealing something from Target…oops. Recently though, this has been what i do because he is getting to be a chunk! I am so proud of you for getting out early on with two kids- see you already are a pro!!
